Chanel No.5 has chosen actor Brad Pitt as its latest 'face' of its most famous perfume

HEART-THROB Brad Pitt is the leading man in a new campaign for Chanel No. 5.
It is the first time that a man has been chosen as the face of the famous fragrance.
Previous muses include actresses Nicole Kidman, Catherine Deneuve and Audrey Tatou.
When asked what she wore to bed, Marilyn Monroe famously said "five  drops of Chanel  No. 5".
Not that the classic scent really needs celebrity endorsement.
It has been the world's best-selling perfume since its debut - and a bottle of the famous scent is  sold every minute, according to fashion folklore.
While Chanel is discreet about such things as sales figures - believed to add up to about 500,00 bottles a year - it has lifted the lid on the legend.
Fans of the iconic fragrance can learn more about the Chanel brand - and No. 5 - online at its  new website, inside-chanel.com
Of course, a man - even one universally loved by women - does seem an unusual choice for the face of  a perfume.
Especially given Pitt's tough-guy performance in his latest movie, Killing Them  Softly.
However, Pitt, as this image by Italian-born fashion photographer by Mario Sorrenti shows, appears made for the role with Chanel who obviously know what women want.
And he's regularly featured in Who magazine's Most Beautiful People list, after all.
